Job Scope

Check patient’s vital signs. Treats wounds, evaluates physical condition of patient and arrange further medical treatment as and when needed at the local hospital. Maintain full records of persons treated, and prepares accident reports and insurance forms. Develops Host programs, such as health education, accident prevention, alcohol and drug abuse counseling, curtailment of smoking and weight control regimes. May assist in pre-employment physical examination of applicants.


Key Responsibilities

General Responsibilities

·        Perform duties in accordance to Standard Operating procedures and Guidelines of Cocoon.

·        Ensures to maintain high standards in personal appearance. Should be well groomed, hygienically clean and properly attired in uniform to carry out duties at all times.

·        Ensures to behave/carry out tasks and responsibilities in a professional manner.

·        Ensure to be well organized to carry out job tasks with necessary accessories ready and at hand.

·        Deals with Staff feedback and concerns systematically and keeps the GM/RM informed of same.

·        Ensure to be committed to suggest/introduce new initiatives that are focused in enhancing staff development.

·        Provides management direction and counseling. Supervises clerical assistant and temporary staffing as needed.

 

Specific Responsibilities

*        Attend to ill patients – both guests and staff in the clinic or in villa during clinic opening hours

*        To attend and arrange further medical treatment for severely ill patients to the nearby hospital (atoll hospital), communicating transportation needs to the relevant departments

*        To attend to emergency calls – out of hours when necessary

*        Maintain host and guest health records on the computer. Ensure that all records are kept confidential. 

*        Prepare monthly report for HR Manager and General Manager

*        Assess the work environment for potential health & safety problems;

*        Design, develop and deliver new initiatives, policies and procedures on health education/promotion and accident/disease prevention to local Island clinics as required

*        Design, develop and deliver new initiatives, policies and procedures on health education/promotion and accident/disease prevention to all Cocoon staff.

*        Conduct a range of assessments and inspections, in conjunction with regulations, such as display screen equipment, personal protective equipment and the control of substances hazardous to health;

*        Provide first aid and medical treatment;

*        Communicate safety concerns to appropriate managers;

*        Maintain staff health records and preparing accident reports;

*        Conduct accident investigations;

*        Investigate the causes of common injuries;

*        Maintain first-aid kits, order new supplies and destroy out-of-date items safely.

*        Assist injured staff returning to work from medical leave;

*        Monitor staff exposure to hazardous chemicals;

*        Contact doctors and/or hospitals, as necessary, to arrange further treatments;

*        Keep up to date with legal and professional changes associated with occupational health and safety;

*        Using expertise to ensure organizations meet legislative requirements.

*        Is fully conversant with all health and safety, fire and emergency procedures

*        Maintain all medical equipment on a monthly basis by checking and ensuring the equipment is fit for use

*        Maintains a high standard of personal hygiene, dress, uniform and body language;

*        Is polite and professional in any situation where the image or reputation of the resort is represented;

*        Attends meetings and training as required by the Human Resources Manager and the Training Manager

*        Ensure that all activities are carried out honestly, ethically and within the parameters of local labor law

Medical Record Accuracy

  • Maintain complete and confidential guest and staff medical records
  • Zero missing or incomplete treatment records
  • Target: 100% record accuracy monthly

Monthly Reporting Compliance

  • Submit monthly medical and incident reports to HR Manager and GM on time
  • Target: Reports submitted before deadline every month

Emergency Case Management

  • Coordinate hospital transfers and emergency arrangements efficiently
  • Zero delays caused by internal communication gaps
  • Target: 100% proper coordination for emergency referrals

Workplace Health & Safety Inspections

  • Conduct scheduled inspections for health and safety risks
  • Submit corrective action recommendations
  • Target: Minimum 2 inspections monthly

Health Awareness Programs

  • Conduct staff health education sessions on safety, hygiene, smoking, alcohol, drugs, or disease prevention
  • Target: Minimum 1 awareness sessions monthly

First Aid Kit & Medical Inventory Management

  • Inspect first aid kits and medical supplies regularly
  • Ensure no expired medicines or missing emergency items
  • Target: 100% compliance during monthly audit

Medical Equipment Maintenance

  • Conduct monthly inspection and maintenance checks for medical equipment
  • Target: 100% equipment checked and operational monthly

Training & Meeting Participation

  • Attend all mandatory meetings and training sessions organized by HR and Training Department
  • Target: Minimum 95% attendance

Professional Conduct & Grooming

  • Maintain professional appearance, hygiene, punctuality, and ethical conduct
  • Target: Zero disciplinary actions or grooming violations

Staff Feedback & Communication

  • Handle medical concerns professionally and keep management informed
  • Target: Positive feedback score above 90%

Legal & Policy Compliance

  • Ensure all medical practices comply with local labor law, health regulations, and resort SOPs
  • Target: Zero legal or compliance violations

Preventive Health Initiatives

  • Develop and implement preventive health and wellness initiatives for staff
  • Target: Minimum 2 initiatives annually

Clinic Readiness & Organization

  • Ensure clinic cleanliness, organization, and readiness for operations
  • Target: 100% readiness during inspections

Confidentiality Management

  • Maintain confidentiality of all medical and personal information
  • Target: Zero confidentiality breaches
