Job Scope

To provide Islamic religious guidance and establish a unified Muslim community in Cocoon Maldives according to the Holy Quran and the Sunnah of the Prophet Mohamed (PBUH).


Key Responsibilities

General Responsibilities

  • Perform duties in accordance to Standard Operating procedures and Guidelines of Cocoon.
  • Ensures to maintain high standards in personal appearance. Should be well groomed, hygienically clean and properly attired in uniform to carry out duties at all times.
  • Ensures to behave/carry out tasks and responsibilities in a professional manner.
  • Ensures to be punctual to report to duties on time.
  • Perform any additional duties as assigned by the department head.
  • Associate is expected to carry out all reasonable requests by management which the associate is capable of performing

 

Specific Responsibilities and requirements

  • The Imaam is preferred to be Hafiz of the Quran and must have sufficient knowledge in the hadith and the Sunnah of Prophet (PBUH).
  • Must be fluent in Dhivehi and Arabic
  • Should be able to interact with the youth and understand the challenges that they face in the hospitality field and provide them the spiritual growth through educational programs and other activities
  • Leads the daily prayers at Masjid.
  • Leads Jum’ah prayer and gives khutbah except when there is a guest khateeb.
  • Leads Eid prayers and gives khutbah except when there is a guest khateeb.
  • Leads the Taraweeh prayer.
  • Provide counseling guidance services as needed.
  • Teaches Quran, Tajwid, Tafsir, Hadith, Sirah, Figh and other Halaqas.
  • Participate in the management activities that further good interfaith and public relations for Islam and Muslims.
  • Develop and implement educational program for new Muslims.
  • Plan Imaam activities and provide monthly report about his activities to the Department Head.
  • Keep the Masjid clean and Tidy always.
  • Report any health or safety hazards to the Department head.
  • Attends to any additional work on requested relating to Human resources by the Department.
  • Ensure to be polite, friendly and courteous towards other staffs and behaves in a manner acceptable of a CRM employee.
  • Ensures to see that all “standards and guidelines” as prescribed by the management are met and there is no compromise ‘whatsoever’ of the agreed standards.
  • Ensures to participate in activities organized for the team members such as recreational activities. 
  • It is also your responsibility of waste minimization, Energy saving practices and good water conservation method


Key Performance Indicators (KPIs)

Prayer Leadership Compliance

  • Lead all daily prayers, Jum’ah, Eid, and Taraweeh prayers as scheduled
  • Target: 100% prayer coverage monthly

Masjid Cleanliness & Readiness

  • Ensure Masjid remains clean, organized, and prayer-ready at all times
  • Target: 95% compliance during inspections

Professional Conduct & Grooming

  • Maintain professional behavior, punctuality, hygiene, and proper appearance
  • Target: Zero disciplinary or grooming violations

Participation in Team & HR Activities

  • Attend and support team member activities, HR initiatives, and assigned management tasks
  • Target: Minimum 90% participation rate
