Job Scope

Overseeing the daily operations of the entire operation (or specific functions) of the HR Department to maintain a consistent standard of cleanliness of all staff accommodation, public areas and other resort facilities in line with guest expectations.

Key Responsibilities

  • Perform duties in accordance with Standard Operating procedures and Guidelines.
  • Ensures to maintain high standards in personal appearance. Should be well groomed, hygienically clean and properly attired in uniform to carry out duties at all times.
  • Ensures to behave/carry out tasks and responsibilities in a professional manner.
  • Ensures to be punctual to report to duties.
  • Ensure to be well organized to carry out job tasks with necessary accessories ready and at hand.
  • Perform any additional duties as assigned by the department head or the supervisors.

 

Associate is expected to carry out all reasonable requests by management which the associate is capable of performing.

  • Ensuring all staff accommodation & Public outlets are serviced daily in line with operational checklists and product specifications
  • Ensuring that Arrival rooms are cleaned and set up according to Resort Standard and all arrival amenities provided
  • Ensuring that the villa’s beach area is set up according to standard. Towels and beach bed cushions are up to standard cleanliness
  • Must be responsible for the set up and Renewal of vow and ensure that all equipment is returned to their proper places after the function
  • Conducting thorough and detailed inspections of all vacant clean staff accommodation rooms prior to the arrival of incoming new staff, ensuring all product specifications and standards have been met
  • Conducting random periodic inspections of occupied staff accommodation & Public outlets after servicing has been completed by staff Room Attendants & Public Area Attendants
  • To maintain the level of minimal team members overtime & align it with the overtime budget
  • Advising Room Attendants of any work which has been completed below product specifications and standards and providing instruction and training where necessary to enable Room Attendants to meet these standards in future
  • Ensuring the room history system is updated as required with dates when maintenance/cleaning of specific room items, spring cleaning programs etc. are completed
  • Ensuring that the schedule for the planned detailed/spring cleaning of all staff accommodations and public outlets on a regular basis is adhered to
  • Conducting a daily walk through of all public areas to ensure standards of cleanliness are being achieved
  • Checking of all guest laundry prior to its return to guests to ensure standards are being met and charges are accurately processed
  • Daily allocation of staff Room Attendants, Public Area Attendants and Laundry Attendants duties, taking a ‘hands on’ role in assisting with the daily workload as necessary
  • Being aware of and promoting the company safety & environment policy, with particular emphasis on the role of Housekeeping in this policy
  • To ensure operational efficiency through the use of Training Programs, Operational Checklists, Procedures, Product Specifications.
  • Ensuring all colleagues are correctly trained in the use of equipment to ensure the safe use of such equipment and to prevent damage to the equipment
  • Ensuring the provision of adequate training, personal protective equipment and material safety data sheets for all team members in the use of cleaning chemical
  • Ensuring the daily security of all resort linen, uniforms items and other housekeeping equipment by following key control guidelines and conducting regular checks to ensure that storage areas are secured and locked when not in use
  • Monitoring of all staff room linen stocks, activities departments, ensuring all linen used is of an appearance and quality that meets resort standards
  • Maintaining adequate stocks of consumable supplies to ensure no shortages and that team members always have sufficient stocks available to complete their duties
  • Reporting any maintenance requirements for staff accommodation and public areas to the Maintenance Manager and housekeeper to monitoring of these requests to ensure timely follow through
  • Revision of department rosters as required to account for variances in occupancy levels
  • Checking and signing of all timesheets on a daily basis ensuring allocated cleaning times for rooms have been achieved.
  • Conducting a daily morning briefing for all staff room & Public Area team members
  • Participating in regular department meetings to discuss team performance, new operational or product initiatives and to encourage general communication
  • Keeping updated on changes to other areas of resort product and communicating such information to the entire Housekeeping team on an on-going basis

Target: 100% compliance in daily grooming and uniform inspections.

Punctuality Rate

Target: Minimum 98% on-time attendance for shifts, briefings, and assigned duties.

Daily Accommodation Cleaning Completion

Target: 100% of staff accommodations and public outlets serviced daily as per checklist standards.

Arrival Room Readiness

Target: 100% of arrival rooms cleaned, inspected, and amenities placed before arrival time.

Vacant Room Inspection Accuracy

Target: 100% inspection of vacant clean rooms before new staff arrival.

Random Inspection Compliance Score

Target: Minimum 95% cleanliness and setup score during random inspections.

Room History Update Accuracy

Target: 100% update of maintenance, deep cleaning, and spring cleaning records.

Planned Deep Cleaning Completion

Target: 100% completion of scheduled spring cleaning activities.

Public Area Cleanliness Audit Score

Target: Minimum 95% score in daily public area inspections.

Supply Availability

Target: Zero operational disruption due to lack of consumable supplies.

Maintenance Follow-up Efficiency

Target: 90% of maintenance issues followed up and resolved within agreed time frame.

Operational Readiness

Target: 100% readiness of tools, accessories, and supplies before shift commencement.

Management Task Completion

Target: 100% completion of additional duties assigned by supervisors within deadline.
