Job Scope

The Housekeeping Supervisor is a critical supervisory role responsible for overseeing, coordinating, and auditing the daily cleaning operations across all guest accommodations, public areas, and back-of-house zones. Positioned as a frontline leader, this role ensures that team performance aligns seamlessly with five-star luxury resort standards by assigning daily work paths, evaluating floor efficiency, and conducting thorough physical quality inspections. Acting as a key bridge between floor staff and resort management, the Housekeeping Supervisor drives on-the-job training, manages localized inventories, coordinates with the maintenance department to minimize property defects, and swiftly resolves guest issues to maintain peak satisfaction at Cocoon Maldives.

Key Responsibilities

General Responsibilities

  • Supervise and coordinate all daily housekeeping operational activities across assigned shifts.
  • Ensure guest rooms, public walkways, and back-of-house areas are pristine and exceptionally well-maintained.
  • Distribute daily assignments, allocate job duties, and closely monitor front-line staff performance.
  • Enforce absolute compliance with resort cleanliness, safety, and hygiene protocols.
  • Conduct hands-on training and provide ongoing guidance to housekeeping staff regarding proper cleaning procedures.
  • Maintain clear, professional, and effective lines of communication with other resort departments.
  • Assist department leadership in successfully achieving overall service benchmarks and goals.


Specific Responsibilities

  • Physically inspect guest rooms and public areas to guarantee luxury quality standards are fully met.
  • Prepare clear daily work assignments, shift schedules, and team room allocations.
  • Monitor floor stock levels for housekeeping supplies, fresh linens, and operational equipment.
  • Identify and promptly report maintenance issues, tracking them to ensure fast resolution and repair.
  • Handle specialized guest requests and efficiently resolve housekeeping-related feedback or complaints.
  • Lead on-the-floor staff training sessions and assist with formal performance evaluations.
  • Ensure resort lost-and-found policies and logging procedures are meticulously followed.
  • Maintain accurate departmental records, daily shift reports, operational checklists, and inspection logs.

  • Conduct thorough audits of arrivals, stayovers, and public locations to ensure pristine presentation.
  • Target: Maintain a high room inspection pass rate according to standard luxury protocols.

Guest Experience & Sentiment

  • Address visitor inquiries swiftly and manage internal response workflows.
  • Target: Achieve high guest satisfaction scores and minimize housekeeping-related guest complaints.

Turnaround & Operational Pace

  • Track real-time room cleaning progress and organize seamless floor handovers.
  • Target: Meet targeted room readiness turnaround times daily.

Staff Optimization & Attendance

  • Supervise daily duties, evaluate attendance habits, and streamline floor coverage.
  • Target: Maximize staff productivity levels and maintain high attendance scores.

Resource Control & Auditing

  • Oversee localized pantries, monitor equipment, and track linen usage on shifts.
  • Target: Achieve high accuracy in inventory and linen control audits.

Regulatory & Safety Compliance

  • Monitor chemical safety, tool handling, and hygiene standards among team members.
  • Target: 100% compliance with corporate safety and hygiene standards.

Talent Development & Mentorship

  • Lead skills-building training and contribute to performance evaluations.
  • Target: Attain targeted training completion and staff performance ratings.

Property Asset Upkeep

  • Log room discrepancies promptly and follow up on engineering repairs.
  • Target: Achieve a visible reduction in long-standing room defects and unresolved maintenance reports.
