Laundry Supervisor

The Laundry Supervisor is a key supervisory role responsible for overseeing, coordinating, and managing the daily shift operations within the resort's commercial laundry facility. Positioned as a direct line leader, this role ensures that all guest garments, staff uniforms, and property linens are processed safely, efficiently, and in strict alignment with five-star luxury presentation benchmarks. The Laundry Supervisor manages real-time workflows, monitors equipment operation, checks chemical dilution, and drives on-the-floor training to maximize team productivity. By maintaining a clean, highly organized processing floor and swiftly addressing discrepancies, this position bridges the gap between operational execution and management targets to maintain an uninterrupted supply of pristine textiles across Cocoon Maldives.

General Responsibilities

• Supervise daily laundry facility operations and coordinate frontline staff activities.
• Ensure all guest garments, resort linens, and employee uniforms are processed strictly on schedule.
• Maintain premium quality standards for all washing, drying, ironing, pressing, and folding cycles.
• Train, mentor, and guide laundry staff on standard operating procedures and industrial safety practices.
• Monitor shift attendance, track individual productivity, and evaluate overall team performance.
• Ensure the entire laundry department remains immaculately clean, hygienic, and highly organized.
• Enforce absolute compliance with hotel internal policies and occupational health and safety regulations.

Specific Responsibilities

• Assign specific daily tasks, distribute specialized workloads, and manage operational shift schedules.
• Physically inspect processed laundry items to guarantee flawless cleanliness, crisp texture, and luxury quality.
• Monitor and regulate the precise usage of detergents, sanitizing formulas, and laundry chemicals.
• Identify industrial equipment malfunctions early, report technical faults, and coordinate engineering maintenance requests.
• Maintain highly accurate daily laundry production records, processing logs, and linen inventory reports.
• Handle guest or departmental laundry queries and resolve service complaints quickly and professionally.
• Oversee the systematic sorting, pre-treatment, and safe handling of diverse fabric types.
• Assist management with the strict stock control, allocation, and tracking of linens and uniforms.

Turnaround & Delivery Timeliness

• Coordinate shift outputs to ensure garments and linens flow dynamically without backlog.
• Target: 100% of guest laundry and urgent linen batches completed on schedule.

Quality Assurance & Presentation

• Audit prepared textiles for cleanliness, pressing excellence, and neutral aroma.
• Target: Achieve high laundry quality inspection scores on all random shift audits.

Rewash Control & Formula Accuracy

• Enforce proper sorting and correct wash programming among team members.
• Target: Maintain a minimal rewash rate percentage monthly.

Staff Optimization & Productivity

• Supervise floor duties, manage operational breaks, and streamline team workflows.
• Target: Maximize staff productivity levels across all assigned shifts.

Asset Upkeep & Downtime Prevention

• Ensure routine filter cleaning and machinery checks are completed by the team.
• Target: Minimize equipment downtime through proactive hazard reporting.

Inventory Control & Audit Accuracy

• Conduct meticulous counts and log resource movements to safeguard property stock.
• Target: Achieve high inventory accuracy rates during monthly linen and chemical audits.

Stakeholder & Customer Satisfaction

• Address departmental requests swiftly and manage garment preservation.
• Target: Achieve high customer and department satisfaction ratings.

Safety, Health & Hygiene Compliance

• Enforce usage of protective equipment, proper ventilation, and chemical safeguards.

Asset Minimization & Loss Control

• Oversee handling techniques to protect fabric lifespans and prevent tears.
