Job Scope

The Public Area Attendant is an essential operational role focused on maintaining the pristine appearance, hygiene, and welcoming atmosphere of all public spaces across the resort. Serving as a highly visible representative of the resort’s hospitality standards, this position directly impacts guest first impressions by ensuring that high-traffic zones—including lobbies, corridors, reception areas, public restrooms, meeting spaces, and recreational environments—are immaculately clean, sanitized, and safely organized. The role requires a strong work ethic, a proactive eye for locating aesthetic or structural imperfections, and immediate responsiveness to guest requests or accidental spills, ensuring that the luxury resort atmosphere remains continuously flawless.

Key Responsibilities

General Responsibilities

  • Maintain the exceptional cleanliness, presentation, and aesthetic appeal of all public areas.
  • Ensure guest-facing locations remain safe, clean, and structurally welcoming at all times.
  • Follow established resort housekeeping standards, internal policies, and operational procedures.
  • Respond promptly, politely, and efficiently to localized cleaning requests and urgent guest needs.
  • Adhere strictly to institutional health, safety, chemical handling, and hygiene regulations.
  • Proactively identify and report environmental maintenance issues, damage, and safety hazards.


Specific Responsibilities

  • Clean and comprehensively maintain lobbies, guest corridors, open restrooms, meeting rooms, and other designated public zones.
  • Sweep, mop, vacuum, dust, and systematically polish varied floor types and architectural surfaces.
  • Empty public trash bins, sanitize disposal units, and replace liners continuously to prevent odors.
  • Replenish restroom guest supplies, including premium soaps, tissues, and paper towels, keeping them neatly stocked.
  • Clean and eliminate smudges from glass doors, windows, structural mirrors, and metal fixtures.
  • Set up, arrange, and maintain strict cleanliness in public event spaces or gathering venues when required.
  • Report left-behind items immediately to the lost-and-found department following standard resort security guidelines.
  • Assist team members with deep cleaning projects, structural polishing, and specialized cleaning assignments.
  • Ensure all cleaning tools, chemicals, and mechanical equipment are used properly and safely stored.

Public Area Cleanliness & Presentation

  • Complete scheduled checks and cleanings to maintain a pristine, dust-free environment.
  • Target: Achieve high scores on all public area cleanliness and quality assurance inspection audits.

Request Response & Speed

  • React quickly to sudden spills, dynamic facility cleanings, or department requests.
  • Target: Meet target internal turnaround response times for all urgent cleaning requests.

Cleanliness Issue Minimization

  • Pay diligent attention to public restrooms, mirrors, and entry points to eliminate oversights.
  • Target: Maintain a minimal count of guest complaints regarding localized public area upkeep.

Safety & Hygiene Compliance

  • Use warning signs (e.g., "Wet Floor" signs) correctly and adhere to chemical dilution guidelines.
  • Target: 100% compliance with established workplace safety and hygiene regulations.

Attendance & Operational Reliability

  • Report on time for daily shift updates, briefings, and assigned coverage areas.
  • Target: Maintain an excellent personal attendance and punctuality record monthly.

Cleaning Schedule Execution

  • Methodically check off daily, weekly, and periodic deep cleaning tasks as mapped by supervisors.
  • Target: 100% completion of assigned routine cleaning paths within the designated shift.

Asset & Equipment Care

  • Operate vacuums, floor polishers, and cleaning utilities responsibly to prevent asset breakdown.
  • Target: Zero safety violations or machinery damage caused by improper tool utilization.

Defect Mitigation & Hazard Reporting

  • Observe structural or engineering flaws early and log maintenance work orders immediately.
  • Target: Achieve a visible reduction in long-standing property defects in shared resort areas.
